Astpai - New Releases and Tourdates

Yeah, some new informations about austrian punkrock/hardcore-punk band Aspai, including stuff about their next 7''-release named "On You Own".

hey there everyone,
it's 3 am here in wiener neustadt, austria and i just downloaded the final master of our upcoming full length record "HEART TO GROW". i can't possibly describe how exciting it feels right now listening to the result of what we've been writing/working on during the past year!

the album is going to be released in august, which still feels quite far away.
so to kill some time inbetween, we decided to release two 7inches along the way:

"THE SCAVENGER" - 7inch is already available for preorders through JUMPSTART RECORDS. it contains the songs we already put out on a split record together with ATTACK! VIPERS! from the uk in 2008, plus two bonus tracks as digital download. this 7inch is limited to 300 copies.
http://www.jumpstartrecords.com

"ON YOUR OWN" - 7inch will be released on may 1st through our buddies in LASERLIFE RECORDS, wiener neustadt, austria. on side A we'll put a first track of the upcoming full length. for side B we'll hit the studio again in march/april to record two exclusive songs. all the artwork will be handmade and screenprinted and the pressing wil be limited to 200 copies.
http://www.laserliferecords.com

both the 7inches will be promoted on a 4-week-tour throughout europe and the uk in may. please check out our profile for dates and further information.

writing all this puts a big smile on my face.
it's great to be busy again.
thanks for paying attention.
zock (astpai)

PS: we're on facebook - get involved!

45 bucks for a T-Shirt?

To start with something positive:
This year, punk rock pioneers Bad Religion celebrate their 30th anniversary. They will do a couple of shows in Los Angeles, Anaheim, San Diego and Las Vegas, about their lifes, stories and of course with performing music!

Watch the tour-trailer:

Since 2009, there is a new product line, called "The Music Tee", which combines merchandise-articles (T-Shirts) and (digital) music, in one package. Simply put, you can go to the Music-Tee webstore, search a t-shirt (there are some featured artists), which is in combination with an album art and a tracklist. So, in this package you buy a t-shirt and get an album too.

Everyone who has order albums or merchandise stuff knows, that such packages are nothing special, normally you even get merchandise cheaper, if you buy an album too (and vice versa), and often there are also stickers, posters and flyers included for free.

However the music industry (especially major labels) claims it as a new beginning for digital releases and merchandise-articles; as a revolution to stop (illegal) downloads, and of course as a good new way to gain, since the cd-sales do not bring the big money.

"enables people to discover and purchase music in fashion retail environments, then hear and wear an album"

Ordering (for example the Bad Religion t-shirt, with their (digital) debut full lenght "How Could Hell Be Any Worse?") at "The Music Tee" costs 45$! You buy the tee shirts, and when it comes, there is a ticket hanging with an unique url for downloading the album.
Okay, it is good, that the music industry have found new ways to stop their self proclaimed depression, but 45$ is an absolutely brazenness! You can buy t-shirts and albums separatly in (local) webstores much cheaper ...
